ROBERT POWELL

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

I love questions, puzzles, and challenges. These are tied together by an endless curiosity about humans and the way they think. I believe humans are – for the most part – predictable and there are perfect people for each and every place or position. The trick for me has been studying the psychological intricacies and learning how to pull the best out of one’s basic brain hard-wiring.

I’m inspired by innovation and kindness. I exited “Corporate America” in 2016 because I’m inspired by helping organizations build and grow. I’ve always had trouble staying in my HR “lane” because I genuinely love learning about Operations, Finance, Sales/Marketing, etc. I enjoy serving as a thought leader and positively impacting the businesses I support without being constrained by corporate red tape.

Fresh air and family are my personal passions and I try to combine the two whenever possible. Whether it’s a quick walk, long bike ride, or a trip around town in the Jeep – I’ve found stepping away for a quick respite typically provides renewed perspective and a level mindset.

James is the Managing Partner, Owner, and Founder of Driving People Operations (DPO), a boutique Business Coaching and Human Capital Management (HCM) consulting firm. DPO’s primary mission statement is elevating leaders and empowering them to generate growth by celebrating their greatest resource - their people.

James is volunteering in his community by 1) collaborating with a home developer to ensure a holistic approach to providing affordable housing in Florida to those in need 2) serving as a board member of The Plus Collective and 3) participating on a Diversity-Inclusion-Equity committee for the international headquarters of Phi Gamma Delta.

James received a B.A. in Business and Organizational Communication with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Akron. He lives in Charlotte, NC with his husband of 25+ year, Mike. James enjoys community activism, fitness, yoga, arts, and traveling.

BINI MAHARJAN

HR MANAGER CONSULTANT

Bini Maharjan is a certified SHRM - CP, passionate about people and culture and who brings over five years of dedicated experience in Human Resources.

Her professional journey has been marked by a diverse range of roles, primarily focused on providing comprehensive HR support to a variety of sectors.

Throughout her career, Bini has demonstrated her expertise in navigating HR within a franchising company overseeing four distinct brands, a hotel group, a marketing company, and a non-profit organization.

What truly drives Bini’s passion for HR is the opportunity to facilitate the integration of new employees into the organizational culture, ensuring that their journey with the company begins on a positive note. She firmly believes that the initial stages of employment play a pivotal role in shaping an individual’s experience within an organization.
